Dr. Scott Young

Having 3 siblings in the dental field, I had an idea from a very early age of the steps that needed to be taken and the milestones that needed to be reached in order to pursue a career in dentistry. When I was 12 years old, I told my parents that I wanted to follow in my brothers’ footsteps and go to dental school. After exploring many different career options in the years following high school, I found that dentistry gave me the opportunity to do something meaningful and worthwhile – it turned out my 12 year old self had things pretty well figured out!  I discovered that endodontics would allow me the opportunity to help others, getting them out of excruciating pain and sending them off to enjoy life without discomfort.

After completing my undergraduate studies at Sacramento State, I began dental school at the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. Just two days after completing my first year, I was lucky enough to marry my wonderful wife, Jennifer. I graduated from the University of the Pacific at the top of my class and together with our German Shepherd, Jennifer and I drove to Boston where I began a new academic chapter at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine for a 3 year endodontic residency. I graduated with a Masters in Medical Science and a certification as a specialist in endodontics.

I am honored to be able to treat my patients, and I am truly dedicated to your care. I pride myself in providing the best care possible and placing my patients well-being at the forefront of my priorities as a specialist.

I currently reside in Granite Bay with my wife and three dogs. We love the outdoors, but above all we love spending time with our families and friends whenever we can!
